1. Have Your Photo Taken at Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross Station
One of the top free Harry Potter attractions in London, Platform 9¾ is a must-visit for fans of all ages. This spot is perfect for Potterheads as it offers a unique experience.

It’s free to take your photo here if you snap it yourself or, if you’re traveling solo, ask a fellow fan in line or a friendly passerby. The staff will lend you scarves from different Hogwarts houses to show your Hogwarts pride.
This makes it one of the best London attractions for families. Enjoy this experience without spending a Knut. No ticket is needed for your photo, but you do have to line up.
Remember, if you opt for the official photographer, there will be a fee.

I was lucky enough to be there around 9:30 AM, and the line was short. The staff were friendly and taught me how to pose.
There is a photo sample showing different types of poses.
If you get there late or too early when the shop is closed, you’ll see the brick wall with the 9¾ sign, but the luggage trolley will be gone.

Directions: King’s Cross Station is easily accessible via the London Underground. Take the Northern, Piccadilly, or Victoria lines to King’s Cross St. Pancras station. Follow the signs for Platform 9¾, located near the Harry Potter shop.
Nearby Amenities: There are cafes and shops inside the station if you need refreshments or want to browse Harry Potter merchandise.
Tip: The holiday season sees a surge in visitors. Visit during early mornings or late at night; it closes at 10 pm. If it’s busy, the trolley photo opportunity may close an hour before the store’s closing time. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

2. Visit the House of MinaLima
A trip to the House of MinaLima is a wonderful experience for any Harry Potter fan, and best of all, it’s free! This gallery showcases the beautiful graphic art from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. It features props, posters, and book covers designed by MinaLima.

From Harry’s acceptance letter from Hogwarts and the Marauder’s Map to all the newspapers, posters, signs, and books used throughout the movies, everything was designed by Eduardo Lima and Miraphora Mina, the creative minds behind MinaLima.

Each visit offers something new, as the window displays change regularly. The first time I visited, the display featured Fantastic Beasts, and the second time it highlighted the Prisoner of Azkaban. Inside, you’ll find props and a gallery that brings the wizarding world to life.

Directions: The House of MinaLima is located at 157 Wardour Street, Soho. It is a short walk from the Tottenham Court Road or Leicester Square Underground stations.
Nearby Amenities: Soho has numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops. Perfect for grabbing a bite before or after your visit.
Tip: Note that there might be a line to get inside. Arrive early, and depending on the season, bring an umbrella as they have limited capacity.
If it gets crowded, you may have to wait outside, and if it’s raining, you’ll want to stay dry. Trust me, it happened to me. I was lucky enough that it wasn’t pouring rain and it was just drizzling. The line was short, so I was able to go inside quickly.
