My Personal Recommendation:
If you are comfortable using London transport, I personally think the train + free Harry Potter shuttle bus is the best overall option because it is usually the fastest, most flexible, and most affordable. However, if you are travelling with kids or visiting during Tube strikes, the direct coach from London can be much less stressful.
What Time Should You Leave London?
Leave earlier than you think.
If your studio entry is at 10:00 AM, I would personally aim to leave Central London around 7:45 to 8:00 AM, especially if you are unfamiliar with London transport, travelling with children or visiting during a busy season.
This gives you time for station navigation, train delays, shuttle bus queues, security checks and photos before entering.
What Happens During Tube Strikes?
This is where planning becomes important. Tube strikes and National Rail strikes can affect your journey.
I’ve personally travelled to London during strike periods, and while the city does continue operating, your route may need adjusting. Not every strike shuts down the whole city, but it can still affect your route. The London Underground may be disrupted while trains to Watford Junction still operate

Between transportation delays and the additional security screening at the entrance, we arrived about five minutes past our scheduled entry time. London commuter crowds can be intense, especially around major stations like Euston during weekday mornings and evenings. If you can, try booking a slightly later studio entry time to avoid squeezing onto packed trains with commuters rushing to work.
4. Wear Comfortable Shoes
There is more walking involved than many visitors expect, both during the journey and inside the studios themselves. Between train stations, shuttle buses, queue lines, and exploring the massive studio sets, your feet will definitely thank you for wearing comfortable shoes.
